Saturday 12/11/2011 saw the return of DUAXC'S signature event: The past v Present race. The famous hill had pshyched out any potential opposition from other Universitities so it was left to DUAXC'S current members, alumini and members from local clubs to do battle.
The women's race was 3miles and was won by new DUAXC member and GB athlete Jen Walsh in a stunning 16.51. Jen was followed by Lucy Reid (18.10) and Carly Robertson (19.05) to complete the top 3. In fact 15 out of the 16 fnishers were DUAXC members which shows not only the potential strength but also the depth of this new girls squad. Roll on Leeds and BUCS............ Congratulations to Abigail, Yvonne and Kathrin for winning the college points race for Hild Bede. The mens race also saw some great DUAXC performances. Our first finisher was Martin Proctor who came 2nd in 21.16 closley foolowed by last years winner Patrick Vis in 21.26. Dan Jenkin (6th) and Ben Douglas (9th) made up the DUAXC 'A' team narrowly beatten by the past team headed by race winner Harry Coates. The remaining 22 DUAXC men runner can be seen in the results bellow. Well done to Dan, James and Rob for bringing home the college title for Van Mildert. Again it was great to see such a good turn out from the men! Big thanks goes to Ollie Nick and all the marshalls and helpers on the day.
