DURHAM UNIVERSITY PAST V PRESENT CROSS COUNTRY FIXTURE:
Saturday 12th November 2011
The Graham Sports Centre, Maiden Castle, StocktonRoad, Durham, DH1 3SE
Durham University Athletics and Cross Country Club are pleased to announce the hosting of its annual ‘Past v Present’ cross country fixture.
The race will take place in Houghall Woods close to Maiden Castle, and will be predominantly off road (although there is a small paved section.)
The Women’s Race will begin at 14:00 and will be at a distance of approximately 3 miles, while the Men’s race will begin at 14:30 and will be around 4 miles long.
The race was traditionally a match between ‘Past and Present’ Durham University Students. However this year we are extending it to other university and club teams, as well as other sporting and collegiate teams from within the university.
Registration will open at 12:30. Entry will cost £2 and there will be an array of prizes. Changing Facilities and refreshments will also be available.
Last year, Patrick Vis (Durham University) won the Men’s \Race, with Durham ‘A’ also winning the Team Competition. Seonaid Murray (Durham Past) won the Women’s Event, and Newcastle ‘A’ the team competition.
We are also planning a post race social on the Saturday Evening in Durham, and for any visiting teams who require accommodation, we should have enough floor space for you all!
