DURHAM UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS AND CROSS-COUNTRY CLUB

WELCOME TO ALL NEW FRESHERS!

Easter Holidays:

Some great performances thus far by DUAXC members over the Easter break. After strong runs by Dan Jenkin and Sophie Smith the cross-country season has now ended and has been replaced by track and field, road and (for Pete Davison) fell racing.

On the roads, a stunning half-marathon performance for Kat O'Mahony has been the highlight, with Pete Davison's obliteration of his 10km PB and Dan Jenkin's London Marathon display not far behind. There were also brave displays by Tory Wells and Sophie Smith (over 15 and 16 miles respectably) who showed the appetite the miles among the DUAXC ladies, while Mike Grimes also performed well at the road relays.

The track and field season thus far has seen PB's for club President Owen Walpole (over 3,000m) and for Athletics captain Gareth Phillips (100m). Freshers Chris Lowe and Katie Hewitt have also begun the season strongly, and secured BUCS slots in the process, while Sarah Maguire has also commenced her Javelin season, as she looks to build un her BUCS final slot last year.
