Steel Cup, Sheffield
The start of the uni indoor season brought some impressive performances from a select band of club members, as they competed against nine other nothern universities in a warmup for BUCS Indoors (in less than two weeks time!)
Leading the way was fresher (and former Welsh Schools Champion!) Tom Knight who showed what an bonus he will be to the club as he won both the 60m and the 200m, and he is now a real medal contender for BUCS. Tom ran 7.1s for the 60m and 22.6s for 200m, beating a strong field in the process. Elsewhere, Gareth Phillips produced two more solid performances, while Rory Johnson, wasn't put off by racing three days before BUCS Cross-Country as he just missed a 1,500m PB.

Birmingham Games:
After beginning his 2011 season earlier in the week, Tom Knight continued his good form as he ran a PB over 60m and his second fastest ever indoor time for 200m.Competing in a competition which included Dwain Chambers, and a former European Championship 100m medalist from Slovenia, Tom came 5th in the 60m Junior race, then a fine 2nd over 200m.
60m: (under 20 race) 5. Tom Knight 7.10 (PB)
200m: (under 20 race) 2. Tom Knight 22.40.
